There were no known photographed examples of this particular model even though John D'Angelico produced an amazing quantity of sixty guitars in 1942. Many of these were Style A, A-1, Style B, and Specials; all similar and yet all very different. Even searching previous and later years in the ledgers failed to locate an exact match. Through some more research, I found a similar example from a mandolin that matched the logo with this particular outline for the D'Angelico script.
